General Manager – Luxury Hotel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the launch and operation of NH Collection Sydney, a new luxury hotel in Australia’s most dynamic city. The role combines strategic vision with hands‑on operational leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences and strong financial results.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the pre‑opening and brand launch, including recruitment, systems implementation, service culture development and market readiness.
• Set and achieve profitability targets, delivering EBITDA goals through strategic planning.
• Champion the hotel externally, building relationships with luxury travel partners, media, corporate clients and the broader Sydney market.
• Oversee all hotel operations across Rooms and Food & Beverage, ensuring brand and service excellence.
• Maintain full financial accountability – budgeting, forecasting, cost control and workforce planning.
• Drive continuous improvement in front office, housekeeping, engineering and maintenance.
• Create a strong service culture, develop future leaders and build a succession pipeline aligned with Minor Hotels’ values.
• Manage guest feedback, reputation and review scores.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, legislation, WHS and brand standards, and uphold property presentation and asset care.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a General Manager in hospitality.
• Proven leadership of luxury hotels or resorts.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with analytical capability.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Resilient, adaptable and effective under pressure with competing priorities.
• Proven expertise in budgeting and financial management.
