Enrolled Nurse – Pool Position at St. Helens District Hospital

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse (Pool) provides direct, patient‑centred nursing care in a fast‑paced rural emergency department on Tasmania’s East Coast. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse or midwife, you will help deliver high‑quality care to a diverse community, especially during the busy tourist season.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to assigned patients within the scope of an Enrolled Nurse.
• Collaborate with registered nurses, midwives and multidisciplinary teams to achieve planned patient outcomes.
• Document clinical observations, interventions and patient responses accurately.
• Assist with emergency department triage and patient flow during peak periods.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards at all times.

Required profile

• Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse in Australia.
• Ability to work under direction of a registered nurse/midwife.
• Flexibility to work on‑call and adapt to variable shift patterns.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient‑focused care.
