Director – Strategic Program Coordination

About the role

The Department of Education and Training is seeking a senior leader to direct strategic program coordination across its government‑funded initiatives. This role ensures effective implementation, risk management and high‑quality reporting in line with Commonwealth requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic coordination and assurance for all departmental responsibilities under Australian Government funding agreements.
• Lead implementation of programs, monitor performance and manage associated risks.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align objectives and maintain strong relationships.
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of comprehensive reports to meet Commonwealth standards.
• Ensure compliance with funding agreement terms and drive continuous improvement in program delivery.

Required profile

• Senior Administrative Officer level (or equivalent) with extensive experience in program coordination within a government context.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex funding arrangements.
• Strong understanding of risk management, stakeholder engagement and governmental reporting processes.
