Deli Assistant – Fresh Food Service

About the role

The Deli Assistant role is focused on preparing high‑quality hot and cold deli products while delivering excellent customer service. You will work in a fast‑paced retail environment, ensuring that every order meets Centra’s standards for freshness and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders across all fresh‑food areas, including sandwiches, rolls, hot dishes, and sliced meats.
• Cook, assemble, and display deli items throughout the day, maintaining portion‑control guidelines.
• Keep counter displays clean, well‑stocked, and visually appealing at all times.
• Share product knowledge, recipes, and personal recommendations to inspire shoppers.
• Handle customer queries promptly and professionally, following store policies.
• Uphold Centra’s brand values: Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, and Community‑Based.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high‑pressure environment.
• Strong multitasking abilities and a passion for food.
• Previous customer service experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• HACCP training (desirable but not mandatory).
