Consultor Local de Costos y Precios – Bolivia

About the role

The Local Cost and Pricing Consultant will support the Cost and Pricing Manager in preparing the cost proposal for the USDA‑funded Food for Progress program in Bolivia. This short‑term consultancy focuses on accurate budgeting, data collection, and vendor coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cost estimates for all budget categories in the program proposal.
• Coordinate with the proposal team to align budget assumptions and cost data.
• Collect, validate, and compile local cost data covering travel, logistics, office operations, procurement, events, and other relevant categories.
• Obtain and document quotations from local suppliers and service providers.
• Prepare and review detailed budget spreadsheets and supporting documentation.
• Verify exchange rates, local taxes, tariffs, and regulatory costs applicable to the budget.
• Assist in drafting budget narratives and justifications for cost assumptions when required.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in cost estimation, budgeting, or financial analysis for development projects.
• Familiarity with local market conditions, supplier pricing, and regulatory frameworks in Bolivia.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in Spanish; English proficiency is an advantage.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel for detailed spreadsheet preparation and analysis.
