Construction Surveillance Supervisor – HV Substations & Renewable Energy

About the role

Virtua Engineering is looking for an experienced Construction Surveillance Supervisor to oversee the delivery of high‑voltage (HV) substation and renewable energy projects across Victoria. Acting as the client’s representative, you will provide independent, on‑site oversight to ensure construction is safe, compliant, and aligned with approved designs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor contractor safety, quality, and compliance on‑site.
• Witness inspections, hold points, and critical construction activities.
• Verify works against approved drawings and specifications.
• Manage interfaces between civil, structural, electrical, commissioning and operational teams.
• Support energisation, commissioning, testing and project handover activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering HV substation, transmission or utility‑scale renewable energy projects during construction and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of civil, structural, electrical and commissioning interfaces.
• Ability to identify risks, quality issues and interface challenges early and work collaboratively to resolve them.
• Comfortable engaging with contractors, engineers, commissioning teams and client stakeholders on site.
• Engineering, trade or construction management background preferred.
