Co-Headteacher – Senior Leadership Role in Lewisham

About the role

This Co-Headteacher position offers an experienced senior leader the chance to step into headship within a collaborative leadership structure. Working alongside an existing Co‑Headteacher, you will help shape the strategic direction of a specialist secondary school, drive school improvement, and ensure pupils receive an exceptional educational experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership alongside the existing Co‑Headteacher.
• Lead school self‑evaluation, development planning and inspection readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement across teaching, learning and pupil outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and support senior leaders, middle leaders and wider staff teams.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and pupil engagement.
• Oversee effective use of staffing, budgets and school resources.
• Build strong relationships with parents, governors and external agencies.

Required profile

• Hold UK QTS and a relevant degree.
• Minimum three years’ senior leadership experience in a school setting.
• Proven track record of contributing to school improvement.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding and compliance.
• Inspirational and visible leader with excellent communication skills.
