Clinical Nurse – Child Health

About the role

The Clinical Nurse will join the Kununurra Community Health team to deliver high-quality primary health care with a focus on child health. This full-time position (76 hours per fortnight) operates within the WA Country Health Service network, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families across the Kimberley region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary health assessments, treatment and health promotion for children and families.
• Apply primary health care principles and community-development approaches in daily practice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral and inter-agency teams to coordinate care.
• Deliver culturally safe services, respecting Aboriginal health determinants.
• Travel to remote sites by road or small aircraft, including overnight stays as required.

Required profile

• Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Certificate in Family and Child Health or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated commitment to primary health care and community-development models.
• Understanding of cultural factors and social determinants affecting Aboriginal health.
• Current C Class driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
