Client-side Project Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

RPS is seeking a client‑side Project Manager to lead construction projects across Defence, Education, Government, Health and related sectors. Based in Cairns, you will work with a high‑performing team delivering large, complex projects that shape communities and influence outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of construction projects, from planning through delivery.
• Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with government approvals.
• Coordinate with contractors, stakeholders and clients to meet project milestones.
• Monitor budgets, schedules and quality standards, reporting progress to senior leadership.
• Maintain health and safety standards on site and ensure all documentation is up to date.

Required profile

• 4+ years of recent construction project experience in Education, Government, Health or Defence sectors.
• Professional qualifications in project management, architecture, engineering or construction management.
• Proven experience in managing construction contracts and stakeholder relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Completed construction site health and safety course.
