Civil Projects & Maintenance Worker

About the role

The City of Hobart is seeking a Civil Projects & Maintenance Worker to deliver road construction and maintenance tasks safely and efficiently as part of the City Infrastructure Group.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day maintenance and construction of roads, footpaths, drainage systems, signage and street furniture.
• Deliver work in line with council standards, policies and safety procedures.
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Operate plant and machinery safely, following training, manuals and workplace instructions.
• Monitor site safety, report or rectify hazards and support the health and safety of the team and the public.

Required profile

• Current driver licence; White Card is mandatory.
• Medium Rigid truck licence is desirable.
• Worksite traffic management skills are highly regarded.
• Basic computer skills for asset management and safety documentation.
• Hands‑on experience in civil construction, including concreting, pipe laying and asphalting.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety with a proactive risk‑management approach.

• Salary range $68,098 – $69,884 per annum plus 13.5% superannuation.
