About the role
The Adventure Intervention Officer delivers programmes and training using Adventure Based Learning (ABL) methodologies, focusing on customer service, quality assurance and risk management. The role supports young offenders or individuals at risk of offending by designing and evaluating targeted interventions.
Key responsibilities
- Implement actions from the Outlook Business Plan within established policies and procedures.
- Design, develop and evaluate ABL programmes linked to case‑management objectives.
- Deliver and assess ABL training for government and non‑government staff working with at‑risk youth.
- Identify learning opportunities and contribute to the development of national training standards.
- Build and sustain relationships with trainees and their agencies, providing on‑program mentoring and maintaining training plans.
- Manage risk for staff and participants, ensuring compliance with legislation, industry standards, policies and procedures.
- Perform administrative tasks related to programme and training delivery and support departmental governance.
Required profile
- Effective representative able to operate within policy frameworks.
- Experience delivering ABL programmes for young offenders or at‑risk groups.
- Ability to interpret work environments and align programmes with case‑management goals.
- Team‑oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills.
- Commitment to risk management, quality assurance and legislative compliance.
