Used Car Technician – Refurbishment

About the role

Join Tesla's Used Cars team to refurbish pre‑owned vehicles to the highest standards. You will work hands‑on with diagnostics, repairs and final inspections to ensure every used Tesla meets the brand’s quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, part removal and replacement on used Tesla vehicles.
• Use a company‑provided laptop for diagnostics, repairs and communication.
• Conduct cosmetic and paint inspections following Tesla guidelines.
• Report work completed clearly and concisely according to Tesla standards.
• Operate hand, power and shop tools to maximise refurbishment efficiency.
• Test‑drive vehicles after refurbishment to validate repairs.
• Inspect and maintain service equipment, requesting replacements as needed.
• Collaborate with detailing, configuration and other internal teams to ensure smooth vehicle delivery.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Motor Mechanic or Registered Vehicle Technician (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a qualified mechanic or technician.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance methods, parts and tools, including HVAC, hydraulic, brake and electronic systems.
• Basic understanding of diagnostic pathways.
• Experience with electric or hybrid vehicles is a plus.
