About the role

Google is seeking a Regulatory Counsel focused on competition matters to join its Legal team. You will provide proactive legal guidance on complex regulatory issues that arise from disruptive technology innovations, working closely with product, engineering, and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret competition and related laws into actionable requirements for Compliance, Business, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Provide legal advice on compliance programs and policies to mitigate risk.
• Manage discussions, negotiations, and disclosures with government agencies and regulators on inquiries and compliance readiness.

Required profile

• JD, LL.B., or equivalent degree with at least 3 years of attorney‑level experience in government, in‑house, or law firm settings.
• Admission to the bar (or authorized in‑house status) in the jurisdiction of employment.
• Experience engaging with APAC competition regulators such as ACCC, JFTC, KFTC, CCI, or CCS.
• Background working with technology companies and handling complex technical issues.
• Proven ability to manage projects and partner with cross‑functional teams.
• Knowledge of privacy, consumer protection, antitrust, contract, content moderation/safety, or IP law in a tech context.
• Strong attention to detail, action‑orientation, and high integrity.
