Project Officer – Far North Queensland (Cairns)

About the role

The Queensland Department of Education is seeking a Project Officer to join its Far North Queensland Regional Office in Cairns. The role supports the Student, Child and Family Connect team, focusing on monitoring early school leavers and enhancing student engagement across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake specialist project activities to achieve defined outcomes.
• Provide support and intervention to young people and families to facilitate educational transitions.
• Implement and monitor the project’s operational plan, coordinating activities among clients and team members.
• Prepare reports, submissions and documentation for departmental services.
• Assist in developing and delivering training for staff and contribute to policy and procedure implementation.
• Participate in organisational change initiatives and resolve operational issues.
