Lending Area Manager – Proprietary Lending (NSW)

About the role

The Proprietary Lending Area Manager will lead a specialist home‑lending team for ANZ in New South Wales. Based at 242 Pitt Street, Sydney, this full‑time permanent role focuses on driving sales, building capability and ensuring a safe, compliant lending operation across both branch and digital channels.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, attract and onboard new home‑lending professionals.
• Provide consistent, high‑quality sales leadership and set performance targets for the specialist team.
• Develop capability through coaching, mentoring and continuous development programmes.
• Manage team performance, customer experience, risk and governance.
• Establish succession plans and clear career pathways to sustain team growth.
• Ensure full compliance with ANZ policies and all regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Strong networking and relationship‑building abilities with proven influencing skills.
• Regional leadership experience in a banking or financial services environment.
• Demonstrated track record in home‑lending sales and business growth.
• Comprehensive understanding of the end‑to‑end home‑loan process, including systems, policies, products and credit assessment.
• Ability to coach and uplift team capability, enhancing technical proficiency and sales performance.
