Lawyer – Legal AI Product Specialist

About the role

LawConnect is building an AI‑driven marketplace that makes legal help accessible to all Australians. As the in‑house lawyer, you will ensure that every consumer‑facing product, content and AI output is legally sound while shaping the legal partnerships that power the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Review product features, user‑facing copy and AI‑generated content for legal accuracy and compliance.
• Develop the legal intellectual property that guides the AI’s decision‑making in areas such as family law, employment claims and consumer disputes.
• Build and nurture relationships with government bodies, legal aid commissions, community legal centres, professional associations and law firms.
• Translate early partner interest into formal commercial agreements and partnership strategies.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and compliance teams to test the end‑to‑end user experience from a lawyer’s perspective.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience working in or closely with Australian law firms.
• Strong commercial instinct and confidence presenting to senior stakeholders, regulators and government agencies.
• Genuine interest in legal technology and its impact on law‑firm operations.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining external relationships.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence product decisions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Australian law across consumer‑focused practice areas.
• Experience reviewing legal content for compliance.
• Understanding of AI‑driven legal products (non‑technical).
