IT Support Officer – Medical Systems

About the role

Bridge IT is looking for an IT Support Officer to join a government‑backed healthcare project in Kingston, Tasmania. The role focuses on deploying, configuring, and maintaining the medical devices and software that underpin the client’s telemedicine and clinical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Update and maintain medical devices, connectivity, and associated software.
• Support Telemedicine platforms such as IntraHealth Profile, VisionFlex and TeleMedic.
• Provide break/fix support for clinicians’ PCs, laptops and mobile devices.
• Manage desktop application deployments via SCCM and oversee group management.
• Maintain medical virtual machines and server environments on Windows Server and Linux.
• Administer Apple iPhone and iPad fleets to ensure 24/7 telemedicine capability.
• Handle medical laptop pools, imaging, deployment and user onboarding.
• Ensure secure network connectivity for medical equipment and support ICT infrastructure in clinical areas.
• Assist with telemedicine conferencing, diagnostic tool support, and patient profile data management.
• Provide guidance and training to on‑site IT technicians.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting medical health systems and devices across geographically dispersed clinical sites.
• Understanding of secure messaging standards such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM and tools like Mirth Connect.
• Ability to monitor, diagnose and resolve issues in an operational clinical environment.
• Experience documenting support processes and troubleshooting procedures.
• Familiarity with maintaining health record data, preferably in Microsoft SQL Server.
