DevOps Cloud Engineer (AWS)

About the role

Gallagher Bassett is looking for an AWS‑focused DevOps Cloud Engineer to join its Infrastructure team. You will help transition cloud projects into stable, business‑as‑usual operations, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of the company’s AWS environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enable secure, reliable deployments.
• Monitor platform performance, availability, and security, and respond to incidents.
• Automate operational processes to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
• Support root‑cause analysis and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and application teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements for government and enterprise workloads.
• Contribute to capacity planning, cost optimisation, and cloud governance.

Required profile

• Strong domain knowledge of AWS cloud services.
• Experience with DevOps practices and cloud operations.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage production‑grade workloads.
• Focus on operational resilience and reducing reliance on external contractors.
