Data Centre Technician – 24/7 Shift

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Data Centre Technician to join NEXTDC’s facilities team in Tullamarine. Working on a 24/7 rotating roster, you will receive on‑the‑job training to support the operation and maintenance of our world‑class data centre infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver cabling, electrical and data connections to customer racks and designated areas.
• Respond to Remote Hands requests and assist with vendor‑managed maintenance of core electrical and mechanical systems.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve facility issues promptly.
• Monitor building management and fire monitoring systems 24/7 and escalate incidents as needed.
• Ensure all visitors and contractors comply with NEXTDC facility rules and safety procedures.
• Occasionally travel between sites during shift rotations.

Required profile

• Strong customer service orientation and clear communication.
• Basic understanding of data centre environments and cable management (desirable).
• Interest in telecommunications, electrical and HVAC systems.
• TAFE Certificate in Telecommunications or Trade Certificate (Electrician/HVAC) – desirable.
• Australian citizenship for security clearance.
