Cost Controller – SAP CO, Fieldglass, Coupa (Australia)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cost Controller to oversee financial performance, contractor cost governance and procurement processes within an industrial environment in Australia. The role involves using SAP CO, Fieldglass and Coupa together with advanced Excel techniques to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary user of SAP CO to monitor cost centre performance and internal orders.
• Manage contractor timesheets and service entries in SAP Fieldglass.
• Oversee Coupa purchase‑to‑pay workflows and apply correct budget coding.
• Perform reconciliations between Coupa, Fieldglass and SAP GL.
• Conduct monthly plan‑vs‑actual variance analysis and develop EAC forecasts for maintenance campaigns.
• Forecast monthly cash outflows based on maintenance schedules and contractor mobilisations.
• Validate contractor invoices against work completion records and audit vendor billing.
• Calculate and post monthly accruals to support month‑end closing.
• Collaborate with maintenance, plant and project managers to enforce cost control and challenge budget overruns.

Required profile

• 5+ years of cost controlling experience in Oil & Gas, Mining or heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with SAP CO, SAP Fieldglass and Coupa.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query, data modelling).
• Proven ability in budgeting, forecasting, accruals and variance analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
