Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist – Regional Hospital

About the role

This full‑time consultant position is based at Grafton Base Hospital, a key regional referral centre in Northern New South Wales. The role offers a rewarding specialist career in a supportive department while enjoying a coastal lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality obstetric and gynaecological care to a diverse patient population.
• Participate in on‑call and rostered clinical duties, including emergency obstetric care.
• Contribute to clinical governance, service development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support junior medical staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Engage in teaching and training activities where applicable.

Required profile

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) OR RANZCOG Advanced Trainee within 6 months of Fellowship.
• International Medical Graduates assessed by RANZCOG as substantially comparable or eligible for Specialist Pathway assessment.
• Eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
