Casual Depot Assistant

About the role

Join Return-It as a Casual Depot Assistant and become the front‑line face of Australia’s leading container deposit recycling network. You will help customers sort their recyclables, process refunds, and ensure a smooth, safe depot experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding, friendly customer service at the depot.
• Assist customers in sorting recyclable items into the correct categories.
• Transport sorted items to the appropriate storage area using forklift or manual handling.
• Handle cash transactions and issue accurate refunds.
• Monitor and enforce health and safety procedures, reporting any hazards.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Previous experience in customer service, hospitality or retail.
• Positive, "can‑do" attitude with a focus on helping customers.
• Ability to work safely with manual handling equipment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
