Business Development Manager

About the role
The Business Development Manager will lead growth of Supagas’ LPG and industrial gases portfolio across the Canberra region. Reporting to the Sales Manager and working closely with the Branch Manager, you will own a defined territory, identify customer needs and act as the primary point of contact for clients.
Key responsibilities
- Increase sales of LPG and industrial gases within the Canberra catch‑area.
- Generate new business through face‑to‑face cold calling, lead follow‑up and networking.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and industry professionals.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver optimal customer service.
- Ensure safety, compliance and accurate documentation at all times.
Required profile
- Proven experience in business development or sales.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and close deals.
- Strong new‑business development capability and ability to design call cycles.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Highly organised with strong time‑management and planning abilities.
- Resilient and adaptable in a high‑pressure, target‑driven environment.
- Team player who embraces Supagas’ “Yes We Can” ethos.
