Advisor - Internal Audit

About the role

The Advisor – Internal Audit supports the Senior Advisor – Data Analytics and Assurance in delivering risk‑based internal audit services. You will help design and execute financial, non‑financial and operational audits while promoting a proactive risk culture across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scoping, scheduling and conducting internal audits in line with the Risk and Assurance Plan.
• Compile audit findings, develop practical recommendations and draft clear audit reports for senior management and board committees.
• Use data‑driven techniques to assess controls, identify exceptions and support continuous improvement.
• Provide advice on internal control, governance, risk management, due diligence and related financial matters.
• Support accreditation activities, develop tools and deliver education initiatives on best‑practice processes.
• Collaborate with senior advisors and the General Manager – Risk and Assurance to strengthen risk awareness.
• Assist with investigative activities and reporting to leadership and board sub‑committees.

Required profile

• Experience in internal audit, risk assurance or related governance functions.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret audit data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent written communication skills for preparing concise audit reports.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
