Tractor Operator – Parks

About the role

Join the Parks Operations Team at the City of Parramatta as a Tractor Operator. You will work outdoors maintaining parks and open spaces, operating tractors and related equipment to keep the community’s green areas safe and attractive.

Key responsibilities

• Operate tractors, mowing machines and powered attachments to maintain parks across the LGA.
• Carry out planned horticultural and grounds‑maintenance tasks to required service standards.
• Inspect parks and facilities to ensure safety, usability and presentation.
• Support the Parks crew with daily maintenance activities and adapt to changing priorities.
• Record work, complete checklists and report issues using Council’s iPad‑based digital system.
• Provide feedback on equipment, processes and improvements.

Required profile

• Reliable, self‑motivated individual who enjoys outdoor work.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of the role.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to assist other teams.
• Valid NSW Driver Licence (Class C) and White Card; MR licence desirable.

Required skills

• Safe and efficient operation of tractors.
• Operation of mowing equipment and other powered plant.
• Use of iPad‑based digital work‑recording software.

What we offer

• Permanent full‑time position – 38 hours per week, Monday‑Friday.
• Weekly rate $1,261.29 – $1,332.12 plus 12 % superannuation and award allowances.
