Trackworker / Civil Labourer – Full-time

About the role

Queensland Rail is seeking a reliable Trackworker/Civil Labourer to join its Cloncurry Track Team on a permanent full‑time basis. The role involves heavy manual labour on railway infrastructure across regional Queensland, often in challenging weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Replace railway sleepers and perform other track maintenance tasks.
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of railway tracks, including flood repairs and emergency work.
• Carry out outdoor labouring duties throughout the region while adhering to safety procedures.
• Travel within the roster, using provided accommodation and travel allowance.
• Maintain tools and personal protective equipment supplied by the employer.

Required profile

• Recent experience in manual handling, labouring or similar roles.
• Ability to pass cognitive and psychomotor testing for rail qualifications.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work in high temperatures.
• Willingness to travel and work across regional Queensland.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required.

Required skills

• HC truck licence (advantageous).
• Excavator operator ticket (advantageous).
