Technical Security Officer – Enterprise Technology & Security

About the role

The Technical Security Officer provides daily technical security support to the Executive Government, ensuring secure communications and information access for the Prime Minister, Cabinet and related officials. Based in the Parliament House Briefing Room, the role blends operational support with the delivery of bespoke security solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain communications equipment in the Parliament House Briefing Room.
• Deliver tailored technical security solutions for real‑time information and communications needs of Cabinet and the Prime Minister’s office.
• Accompany official travelling parties domestically and overseas to guarantee information security and secure communications.
• Perform ad‑hoc after‑hours duties and participate in an on‑call roster as required.
• Maintain a Top Secret (Privileged Access) security clearance throughout employment.

Required profile

• Proven experience providing technical security support in a government or high‑security environment.
• Experience operating secure government ICT systems.
• Understanding of security risk management best practices.
• Strong communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders.
• Excellent time‑management and ability to prioritize urgent tasks.
• Self‑motivated, professional, personable and committed to service delivery.
