Technical Director – Geotechnical

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Director – Geotechnical to join Aurecon’s Ground and Underground Engineering team in Brisbane. In this senior position you will shape the delivery of complex infrastructure projects across Queensland, providing strategic technical direction from early investigation through to construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design and delivery of sophisticated geotechnical solutions in line with the Aurecon Blueprint.
• Provide recognised expertise in geotechnical design, slope‑risk assessment and remediation.
• Model inclusive leadership behaviours that foster trust, collaboration and high performance.
• Champion safe, sustainable and resilient design while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Act as an internal and external technical authority on geotechnics and engineering geology, especially on complex challenges.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in geotechnical engineering and a proven track record of senior technical leadership.
• Collaborative mindset with a genuine passion for mentoring and developing teams.
• Ability to influence outcomes and create lasting impact on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
