Team Leader, Collections

About the role

The Collections Team Leader will drive the collection function for SG Fleet, ensuring timely payment of rentals and related invoices while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role supports organisational risk mitigation, policy development, and delivery of key performance indicators.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, train and motivate a high‑performing collections team to meet targets and KPIs.
• Monitor client accounts, initiate recovery actions, and ensure monies are collected within agreed timeframes.
• Manage invoicing, direct debits, month‑end processing and regular reporting, including ledger reviews and bad‑debt recommendations.
• Oversee administration/liquidation accounts to minimise risk and recover assets.
• Collaborate with the Client Relationship team to communicate credit policies and resolve discrepancies.
• Liaise with financiers on arrears positions and support broader collections initiatives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Commerce or equivalent.
• Proven experience managing and coaching a high‑performing team.
• Background in accounting, preferably accounts receivable or credit control.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Advanced spreadsheet skills in Excel, including reconciliation.
