Team Leader – CLMI, Adult Community Corrections

About the role

The Department of Justice is seeking a Team Leader for the Criminal Law (Mental Impairment) Act (CLMI) Services Team within Adult Community Corrections. This permanent, full‑time position provides day‑to‑day leadership to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and high‑quality case management for adults subject to the CLMI Act.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to the CLMI Services Team.
• Ensure consistent, high‑quality case management in line with the CLMI Act and departmental policy.
• Oversee preparation, quality, and timeliness of reports to courts and the Mental Impairment Review Tribunal.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including State Forensic Mental Health Services and the Disability Justice Service.
• Contribute to operational planning, workload allocation, and resource management for the CLMI cohort.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of community corrections and mental impairment legislation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple agencies.
