Tax Manager – Senior Accountant (Technical & Quality Review)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager / Senior Accountant to lead the technical and quality review of tax compliance work for a respected accounting and business advisory firm in Shellharbour, NSW. This internal‑focused position offers the chance to mentor junior staff while ensuring high‑quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on tax and accounting matters across the firm.
• Oversee end‑to‑end review of financial statements, income tax returns and supporting workpapers.
• Mentor and develop junior accountants through hands‑on guidance and structured feedback.
• Collaborate with managers and partners to resolve complex technical issues.
• Maintain compliance with Australian tax legislation, accounting standards and internal quality frameworks.
• Identify process improvements and implement best‑practice review methodologies.

Required profile

• Experience in Australian public practice, preferably in a senior tax accountant or review‑focused role.
• CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion) with strong technical capability.
• In‑depth knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to review work and mentor junior team members.
• Excellent attention to detail, time‑management and organisational skills.
