About the role
Barpa, an Indigenous‑owned construction firm, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations on its projects across Australia. You will be responsible for coordinating trades, subcontractors and suppliers while ensuring safety, quality and programme delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Lead all site‑based construction activities from commencement through to completion.
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSE requirements.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant and materials to maintain programme outcomes.
- Monitor quality standards and proactively manage defects and non‑conformances.
- Develop and maintain short‑term construction programmes aligned with the master schedule.
- Manage trade sequencing and site logistics to minimise disruption and delays.
- Chair subcontractor and project coordination meetings.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and stakeholders.
- Mentor and lead Site Supervisors, cadets, graduates and construction workers.
- Support Indigenous engagement, participation and culturally safe work practices.
Required profile
- 8‑15 years’ experience in commercial construction.
- Relevant tertiary qualification, trade qualification or strong industry experience.
- Proven track record delivering projects safely and within programme constraints.
- Strong leadership and subcontractor management capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to identify and manage construction, safety and programme risks.
- Deep understanding of construction sequencing, logistics and site operations.
- Commitment to quality outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to use a variety of software.
