SHS Manager – Health & Safety Leadership (Port Hedland)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced SHS Manager to provide health and safety leadership at our Port Hedland site, driving a strong safety culture, compliance and standards across all operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate functional safety issues, including risk assessments, system development and maintenance of records and reports.
• Conduct workplace inspections and audits, and implement improvement plans where gaps are identified.
• Lead and participate in incident investigation processes.
• Ensure site compliance with OHS and WA mining legislation.
• Follow SHEMS documentation (rules, procedures and instructions).
• Drive culture change on operating standards, risk awareness and safety culture.
• Initiate, verify and control corrective actions until deficiencies are resolved.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety or a relevant university graduate diploma.
• Current National Police Clearance.
• Strong understanding of Western Australian mining regulations.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
• ICAM Investigation qualification and experience.
• Strong computer and communication skills.
• Adaptability, flexibility and a hands‑on coaching/mentoring approach.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
