Senior Tax Manager

About the role

Louis Dreyfus Company is expanding its Australian footprint and seeks an experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead the national tax function. This senior leadership position will shape tax strategy, ensure compliance, and support major transformation and integration projects across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise the group’s effective and cash tax rates, identifying opportunities and risks.
• Provide tax structuring advice for acquisitions, integrations and new ventures.
• Partner with finance and treasury to design tax‑efficient financing structures, including withholding tax and thin‑capitalisation considerations.
• Lead all Australian tax compliance activities – income tax, GST, indirect and state taxes.
• Manage ATO engagements, audits, disputes, negotiations and technical queries.
• Implement strong tax governance, internal controls and maintain the tax risk register.
• Monitor domestic and international tax regulatory changes and advise on business impacts.
• Drive continuous improvement of tax processes, reporting and systems, including technology adoption.
• Lead the tax workstream for LDC Australia’s multi‑year transformation program and system integrations.
• Support ad‑hoc commercial, innovation and tax‑related projects with analysis and insights.
• Oversee transfer pricing matters for specific commodities traded out of Australia within the SSEA region.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in a Big 4 firm or senior in‑house tax leadership role within a multinational corporation.
• Strong technical tax knowledge of cross‑border transactions, M&A, tax treaties and transfer pricing.
• Excellent business acumen, analytical capability and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, adaptability and strong project management skills.
• Proven stakeholder management across diverse business functions.
