Senior Probate Officer

About the role

The Supreme Court of Victoria is looking for an experienced Senior Probate Officer to lead the day‑to‑day operations of the Probate Office client services function. This role ensures that thousands of court users each year receive accurate, timely and accessible probate services in the Court’s highest‑volume jurisdiction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team delivering client services via telephone, email and counter channels, maintaining high standards of accuracy, responsiveness and service quality.
• Oversee workflow management, resource allocation and administrative processes supporting probate applications.
• Identify operational issues, drive continuous improvement and implement process enhancements.
• Contribute to testing and rollout of system improvements, including the RedCrest‑Probate system.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a client‑focused, high‑volume environment.
• Strong judgement and meticulous attention to detail to ensure procedural accuracy.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.

• Proficiency with the RedCrest‑Probate system.
