Senior Manager, Operations Excellence

About the role

ANZ is looking for a Senior Manager, Operations Excellence to embed operational excellence across Retail Operations. You will drive productivity, risk‑managed execution and continuous improvement while supporting large‑scale change initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the Retail Operations Operational Excellence strategy aligned with enterprise priorities and risk appetite.
• Lead large‑scale operational and process transformation initiatives across Retail Operations.
• Embed consistent OE disciplines in both business‑as‑usual and change programmes to ensure sustainable benefit realization.
• Own measurable outcomes in productivity, service performance, cost, quality, speed, capacity and customer experience.
• Provide executive‑level insights on operational health, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Develop OE leaders and practitioners, building capability across Retail Operations.
• Establish governance for business continuity, supplier management, data access and operational resilience.
• Translate business priorities into end‑to‑end process improvement roadmaps, including value‑stream mapping, waste elimination and root‑cause analysis.
• Coach leaders and teams on problem‑solving and continuous‑improvement thinking.
• Drive adoption and sustainability of digital solutions across operations.

Required profile

• 10–15+ years of experience in banking operations, operational excellence or transformation roles.
• Proven delivery of large, complex, cross‑functional change in retail or operations environments.
• Strong commercial, risk and governance judgement with executive‑level decision‑making accountability.
• Leadership experience building capability and succession within teams.
• Advanced stakeholder engagement at Group Executive and N‑2 level.
