Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join Aurecon’s Ground and Underground Engineering Practice in Sydney. The role combines virtual collaboration with on‑site work on large‑scale transport, defence, energy and water projects across NSW and ANZ.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with clients and multidisciplinary Aurecon teams to define project requirements.
• Conduct geological desk studies and supervise geotechnical investigations from small to major projects.
• Develop geological models, interpret data and produce factual and interpretive geotechnical reports.
• Design geotechnical solutions for a variety of infrastructure markets.
• Manage and quality‑check geotechnical investigations and reports generated by others.
• Support business development through winning work and project management.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
• Significant experience in geotechnical design and investigation on complex infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work both on‑site and remotely, collaborating across diverse teams.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for continuous learning.
