Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Industrial

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer specialized in Instrumentation & Control (I&C) to join its Gladstone team. You will contribute to complex industrial projects that support Queensland’s industrial future, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of instrumentation, control, and communication systems for large‑scale industrial projects.
• Act as the trusted I&C technical specialist, advising on system architecture, integration, and best practice.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and process engineers to create seamless multidisciplinary solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers, building team capability and technical excellence.
• Oversee project delivery, managing schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Develop strong client relationships and support business development activities.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• RPEQ (Electrical) registration or ITEE equivalent.
• Minimum 10 + years of electrical engineering experience with a strong focus on instrumentation.
• Proven track record of delivering practical, impactful outcomes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
