About the role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with strong Python and Django expertise to support a Federal Government client in Canberra. The position is a two‑year contract, starting 1 July 2025, with a hybrid work model (three days onsite, two days remote).
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and the Django framework.
- Manage Linux‑based servers and ensure reliable deployment pipelines.
- Implement version control using Git and oversee CI/CD processes.
- Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes.
- Develop and optimise databases in PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, high‑performance solutions.
Required profile
- Senior‑level professional with several years of backend development experience.
- Eligible for Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and meeting project deadlines.
