Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to lead the end‑to‑end financial close and consolidation across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure accurate reporting, compliance and provide strategic financial guidance to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full financial close and consolidation process, delivering accurate journals, reconciliations, statutory, regulatory and tax compliance, and timely month‑end and year‑end reporting.
• Manage audit and control activities, coordinating internal and external audits, maintaining robust documentation and ensuring strong financial controls, systems and governance frameworks.
• Oversee treasury and commercial finance functions, including cash‑flow management, forecasting, budgeting, contract oversight and delivering sound financial advice to operational leaders.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, controls and processes, support finance projects and strategic initiatives, and mentor junior finance team members.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline with CA or CPA certification (required); listed‑company experience is a plus.
• Minimum 5 + years’ experience in a commercial or professional services environment with strong technical accounting capability, tax and regulatory compliance, and ownership of month‑end/year‑end processes and audits.
• Strong analytical and systems skills, advanced Excel proficiency and hands‑on experience with ERP/accounting systems in fast‑paced settings.
• Proactive finance professional with excellent communication, a continuous‑improvement mindset and proven experience supervising and mentoring junior staff.
