Relationship Manager – SME Banking (Shepparton/Bendigo/Ballarat/Geelong)

About the role

ANZ is seeking a Relationship Manager to lead a portfolio of small and medium‑sized enterprises across the Shepparton, Bendigo, Ballarat and Geelong regions. Working alongside a dedicated Assistant Manager, you will build trusted partnerships with business owners, understand their financial needs and deliver tailored banking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse SME portfolio, driving growth through acquisition, cross‑selling and referrals.
• Develop deep knowledge of each client’s business to propose appropriate financial products.
• Structure and negotiate deals in collaboration with product specialists and other ANZ stakeholders.
• Monitor and proactively manage credit and operational risk, applying Relationship Credit Approval discretion where required.
• Maintain strong internal and external networks to support deal design and execution.

Required profile

• Proven ability to build long‑term customer relationships and achieve high satisfaction levels.
• Strong understanding of commercial mid‑market banking products and credit assessment.
• Experience in evaluating, advising on and structuring credit solutions for SMEs.
• Effective negotiation skills and sound judgment in risk management.

• Knowledge of SME banking products and credit risk frameworks.
