Regional Director – Child and Family Services

About the role

The Queensland Government is seeking a Regional Director to lead the Child and Family region. This senior executive will oversee day‑to‑day operational service delivery, drive customer‑centric models, and ensure strategic alignment with government priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and stewardship to achieve the region’s vision and priorities.
• Manage operational service delivery across the district/region, ensuring high‑quality, sustainable outcomes.
• Partner with senior executives, internal departments, and inter‑jurisdictional stakeholders to develop solutions for Queenslanders.
• Lead change initiatives, foster partnerships, and build a capable workforce.
• Maintain governance, policy implementation, and financial accountability.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in large, complex organisations.
• Strong background in strategy, policy implementation, governance and service delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver change in challenging environments.
• Excellent judgment, integrity, resilience and communication skills.
• Experience in child protection or related social services is highly desirable.
