Project Manager – Major Highways Program

About the role

The role is based in tropical North Queensland and involves managing the delivery stage of a major highways program. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver road widening, overtaking lanes, road safety improvements and bridge construction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage time, cost and quality for projects valued between $50 million and $150 million.
• Provide guidance on planning and design options to ensure program success.
• Investigate and resolve complex project issues.
• Procure, evaluate, engage and manage consultancies for engineering, design and construction works.
• Monitor and report on contract performance, ensuring best practice.
• Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations and issues.

Required profile

• 5+ years project management experience in road/bridge construction, preferably in a design‑and‑construction (D&C) environment on TMR projects.
• Experience in greenfield and brownfield road construction, including road safety, widening, overtaking lanes and bridge works.
• Familiarity with TMR specifications and contract management.
• Background in both design and construction.
• Willingness to be based full‑time in North Queensland (Cairns preferred, Townsville acceptable).
• Bachelor of Engineering or Engineering Technology, with RPEQ registration preferred.
• Australian working rights.
