Project Manager – Infrastructure (Defence)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead infrastructure projects for its Defence and Security business in Townsville. You will manage the Estate Works Program (EWP) under a ten‑year Project Delivery Service contract, ensuring delivery from planning through to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure projects through all lifecycle stages: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through proactive engagement.
• Maintain project documentation and reporting in line with Defence and Bureau Veritas standards.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and with effective risk management.
• Oversee handover/takeover (HOTO) processes and ensure timely project closeout.
• Capture and share lessons learned to improve future project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Current Baseline Security Clearance (or ability to obtain/maintain one).
• Proven experience managing construction projects, preferably in Defence or Government sectors.
• Strong understanding of government procurement practices and compliance standards.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
