Project Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

The Duratec group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex construction projects across Defence, Marine, Industrial and Commercial sectors in the Northern Territory. This role is based in Darwin and offers the opportunity to manage landmark projects from planning through to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full project lifecycle, ensuring practical completion and handover.
• Manage programme, cost, risk and resource allocation to meet project objectives.
• Oversee subcontractor performance, including scope, schedule, commercial outcomes and quality.
• Provide leadership to site teams, engineers and supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality management systems.
• Manage procurement strategy, contract administration and variations.
• Maintain relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Drive reporting, forecasting and cost control, including monthly progress claims and budgets.

Required profile

• Previous experience in construction, civil, building or remediation projects.
• Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager on site‑based construction projects.
• Leadership capability with a proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Commercially astute with contract and subcontract management experience.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused and confident managing complex site environments.
