Principal Adviser – SAP BTP Integration Lead

About the role

Rio Tinto is seeking a Principal Adviser Platform Integration Lead (SAP BTP Integration Developer) to design, build and lead enterprise integrations on the SAP Business Technology Platform as part of its Modern ERP program. This Fixed‑Term Contract role is based in Brisbane with hybrid working options.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain integrations using SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI) following SAP best practices.
• Lead the re‑platforming of integrations from SAP PI/PO and MII to SAP BTP, minimizing business disruption.
• Own technical design decisions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and clean‑core principles.
• Conduct design and code reviews to guarantee quality, performance and maintainability.
• Implement robust integration patterns such as API‑led, event‑driven, synchronous and asynchronous messaging.
• Ensure integration security, monitoring, logging and error handling meet enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with SAP functional teams, developers, architects and external vendors to deliver integration outcomes.
• Support testing, deployment, cut‑over and post‑go‑live activities, including hyper‑care and incident resolution.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to personal and team safety.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with SAP PI/PO and SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI).
• Proven delivery of integration solutions within ECC to S/4HANA transformation programs.
• Deep understanding of SAP integration patterns (REST, SOAP, IDoc, RFC, file‑based, event‑driven).
• Ability to lead technical design, mentor developers and conduct peer reviews.
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
