Operator Maintainer – Mining Operations

About the role

The Operator Maintainer will join the Operations team at the Karara Export Terminal in Geraldton, supporting the efficient, safe and high‑quality operation of plant and port equipment. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will carry out both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on a rotating roster.

Key responsibilities

• Perform assigned maintenance work in line with equipment manufacturer specifications.
• Monitor equipment performance, report issues and contribute to risk mitigation.
• Share technical knowledge with team members and help develop improved maintenance procedures.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and mentor apprentices and contractors.
• Attend scheduled training and uphold safety standards at all times.

Required profile

• Valid WA ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
• High‑Risk Work Licence with Dogging, Basic Rigging and Elevated Work Platform certifications.
• Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets.
• Australian citizenship or a visa permitting work, and a national police clearance for MSIC.
• Residency in Geraldton or willingness to relocate at personal cost.

Required skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of port operations and process‑plant equipment.
• Experience with fixed‑plant policies, scheduled maintenance systems and work‑order processes.
• Problem‑solving ability for investigations and planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
