About the role
Uniting Financial Services (UFS) is seeking two experienced Non-Executive Directors to join its Board during a period of strategic renewal. This paid board appointment offers the chance to influence a purpose‑driven financial institution that manages about $1.9 billion and supports community initiatives across New South Wales and the ACT.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and long‑term stewardship of the organisation.
- Contribute to governance, audit and risk management frameworks.
- Oversee lending and investment activities.
- Guide regulatory and compliance initiatives.
- Support organisational sustainability, growth and transformation.
- Engage with stakeholders across church, community and commercial sectors.
Required profile
- Extensive senior executive, advisory or board experience in banking, financial services, credit risk, legal/regulatory environments, audit, governance, compliance, corporate strategy, ESG investment or cyber risk governance.
- Strong commercial judgement and strategic capability.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a collegiate Board environment.
- High integrity, emotional intelligence and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Alignment with the ethos and values of the Uniting Church in Australia is highly regarded.
