Manager, Tax – Minerals (Australia)

About the role

The Manager, Tax – Minerals will lead BHP's Corporate Tax portfolio for Australia, overseeing direct tax compliance, reporting and consolidation for a large multinational. Reporting to the Vice President Tax Minerals Australia, you will manage a high‑performing team and provide strategic tax support to operational assets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate corporate income tax outcomes, including tax effect accounting (AASB 112 / IAS 12), disclosures and lodgement of returns.
• Identify, assess and manage tax risks and uncertain positions, ensuring compliance with internal governance and regulator expectations.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of senior tax professionals, setting priorities and maintaining delivery discipline.
• Provide tax leadership on major capital projects, M&A activity and significant commercial arrangements.
• Engage with senior business leaders, functional teams and regulators, communicating complex tax matters clearly.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing Australian corporate tax obligations at scale.
• Strong knowledge of tax effect accounting (AASB 112 / IAS 12) and corporate income tax compliance.
• Proven ability to navigate complex technical issues while focusing on risk management and governance.
• Thought‑leader on tax policy and regulatory developments, with excellent communication skills.
