Manager, Legislation and Regulation

About the role

The Department is seeking a Manager to lead the delivery of legislative and regulatory projects that shape Queensland's future. You will provide expert advice to senior executives and ensure high‑quality legislative outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end‑to‑end delivery of legislative policy projects, including bills and subordinate legislation.
• Prepare and deliver strategic, high‑quality advice to the Director‑General, Minister’s Office, and senior staff on legislative issues, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide leadership, direction and motivation to a client‑focused, skilled workforce.
• Support implementation of Queensland Government policies and contribute to operational planning, reporting and financial monitoring.
• Build collaborative networks across the department to advance strategic and operational goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading legislation development projects or ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to engage internal and external stakeholders on complex legislative matters.
• Successful track record of leading teams and managing programs to achieve organisational objectives.
• Strong analytical, conceptual and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for providing authoritative advice to senior leadership.
• Skilled at negotiation and influencing to achieve organisational goals.
